REFLEXOLOGY: TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE. HOW?

Reflexology is a basic method that you may learn and then customise to fit your needs. There are essentially no hazards, and reflexology's vast range of health advantages may be just what you need to help your body perform at a higher level. Let’s break down what reflexology is. And how does it work?

WHAT IS REFLEXOLOGY?

Reflexology is a type of healing that includes pressing or massaging specific points on your feet and hands to improve the health of other parts of your body. Each pressure point on your feet and hands serves as a sensor and is linked to a certain bodily part. These sensors will be activated by utilising the reflexology technique to improve blood and energy circulation, calm your body, and maintain internal stability.

HOW TO DO IT YOURSELF?

Before you begin, take a few moments to rest your feet. Warm your hands and any mild oil you're applying. Make yourself at ease in a reclining position with your feet elevated and easily accessible so that you can see your soles. Make sure your back, neck, and legs are properly supported as well. You're all set to get started.
• Once your hands and oil are warmed up, wrap the foot you aren’t using with a blanket for warm-up.

• Take the second foot in your hands and look at the sole, keeping the foot erect by supporting the heel with your hand. Any hard skin patches or colour changes should be noted, as they could indicate reflex sites—for example, hard skin over the ball of the foot indicates lung congestion.

• Then, using a small amount of oil, rub your palms together and massage it into your foot to soften, but do not overuse it.

• Begin by moving your thumb up and down the inside bridge of your foot in small caterpillar motions to activate the spinal reflex.

BACK

The nerves that run along the inside of the foot correspond to the back nerves. The lower spine is at the heel, the centre is in the middle, and the big toe rises towards the neck area; it's fairly evident where back tension is present.

SHOULDERS

Another immediately apparent place where tension and congestion in the accompanying muscle fibres are usually retained is the shoulder reflex. Work your thumb up into the area between the foot's border and the space between the next toes – in between the little toe and down – in a triangle zone on the sole of your foot. The congestion is indicated by small microscopic crystalline deposits on the shoulder reflex point when the shoulders are rigid or tight.

NECK

Headaches can be brought on by neck stress. After working on the shoulder muscles, move on to the back of the big toe, which represents the neck muscles, and softly circle the big toe to the left and then to the right. Consider your big toe to be your brain.
